One of the best deviations on this website, I believe. I've been browsing this site for 3 years before creating my account, and never have I seen something that left such a huge impact on me. Well deserved DD.
This is a really fantastic image. Interesting artwork, here. The method for today's DD's must be "fading away," because that has been the basic theme of some of the images. Well, this one does so with a great twist. It does so in various stages. One is the loss of color. The other is the chipping away method. What is catching to me is the turned head. It is like the figure is saying something with that action. One view on that is the shame for the growing lack towards being present. Another view sadness for not being around. Lastly, it could be a turned head out of the motion some folks do when it is like they are looking off of the camera. Either for overly satisfied look or for overly puzzled look. This damned thing is really cool.
So, it's either stating one of two things: "Finally, it's about damned time. Let's go." Or, "Oh, woe is me. Turn my head, I shall, so they will not see."
He's actually fading away. He's losing color, turning blue. Losing the blue like cheap paint running, and then having other blue(& flesh colored parts) breaking off into the breeze. Wirework for the loss(of hisself).
This is a beauty and absolutely inspiring!! As soon as I opened it up, my fingers started itching for my brushes. That blue just takes my breath away. Congratulations on the DailyDeviation - it is very well deserved!
